Just Another Day in Nashville

April 14, 2014

The Johnny Cash Museum features the world’s largest collection of Johnny Cash artifacts and memorabilia in the world. The life of the Man in Black is depicted in interactive exhibits, films and much more. The museum is officially endorsed by the Cash Family and recently received the coveted AAA GEM rating—the highest bestowed on any attraction. The Johnny Cash Museum is one of only six attractions in Nashville to have this distinction. This attraction has received great reviews by people who have been there. Most reviewers say it is worth the money and the lines, and some even say they got a little sentimentally misty-eyed.

Tim likes to fish, so I’ll include the J. Percy Priest Lake, which is about ten miles east of downtown Nashville. It offers the opportunity to fish, whether from a boat in the middle of the lake or from one of the many fishing locations along the banks of the lake.  Fish species found in the lake include five different kinds of bass, catfish, sunfish, trout, crappie, and bluegill.  You do need a Tennessee license to fish. Other recreational activities at the lake include boating, camping, horseback riding, picnicking, wildlife watching, swimming, sailing, wakeboarding, jet skiing, water skiing, hiking and biking.

I don’t know if we can fit all of that into one vacation, but Tim likes outdoor activities such as these almost as much as he likes music. It’s worth considering. If I happen to catch him playing his guitar and singing to a fish, I’ll be sure to get a picture to share. 🙂

  1. I dont know if we will have time to go fishing, but I would like to take a break from the city and do some hiking or something. Maybe a romantic canoe picnic?

    • I’m thinking a picnic in a canoe is like inviting myself to take a swim. Maybe a canoe ride TO a picnic…
