Music City and Mexican Food

April 15, 2014

Nashville is Music City. I could go on for days about the things to see and do in Nashville involving music. Don’t worry, I’ll just touch on a couple for this post.

The Music City Walk of Fame would be a fun stop. It is located in the Walk of Fame Park in downtown Nashville and honors significant contributors to Nashville’s musical heritage. The honorees are commemorated with a large stainless steel and granite star embedded in the Walk of Fame.

Musica is a bronze statue located at the center of the Music Row Roundabout in Tennessee. Unveiled in 2003, it was built as part of an urban development project for the Music Row neighborhood. According to Wikipedia, it is currently the largest sculpture group in the United States. The work is controversial due to the depiction of nudity, although the sculptor argues that it is “entirely tasteful and not at all sexualized.” It is meant to represent artistic creativity.

Mas Tacos Por Favor is a restaurant in Nashville that is wildly popular. Locals and tourists alike rave about it. It started out as a taco truck and became a permanent establishment in East Nashville in 2010. It is one of the city’s most beloved destinations for Mexican street food.

I think all three of these attractions will be getting a visit from us. A vacation involving all things music is even better when good Mexican food is involved. 🙂

  1. My wife and I stopped in Nashville during a road trip once, I think we spent a total of maybe 12 hours there. It seemed like a really nice place. We didn’t plan it out very well, though. Only got to see the Grand Ole Opry—the new one, which was cool, but I’d like to have seen the Ryman, too. Have to go back someday.

    • Even with planning I don’t think we will squeeze it all in! It would definitely take more than one trip!
Thanks for visiting my blog and for commenting!
